Publius Ovidius Naso (43 BC – 18 AD). Ovid, the Roman poet who wrote
Pygmalion & Galatee (1763) the tenth book of his Metamorphoses is our Inspiration for this article on the Bridal Jewellery at Digitalism Magazine. All of Ovid’s tales involve metamorphosis as a universal principle which explains the nature of the world in his times where as Troy fell , Rome rose. It was a world not very different from today. We see a world of constant change, with nothing permanent.

In this article we draw our inspiration from Ovid’s tale of Pygmalion, a sculptor who craves for his carved marble statue Galatea, a beautiful virgin to become real. The reality of a carved stone to change to love and become alive was Pygmalion’s wish during the Festival of Venus. Venus the Goddess of Love heard Pygmalion pray,
“Ye gods, who can do all things, give me, I pray you, for my wife ,one like my ivory virgin.”
 Venus brought magic by bringing life to the statue Galatea, who became a wife to love and cherish for Pygmalion.
